Seha Virtual Hospital Validates AI Platform For Accurate Heart Disease Diagnosis In Clinical Study

The Seha Virtual Hospital has achieved a significant milestone through its Digital Clinical Research Center by completing a groundbreaking clinical study. This research aimed to validate the effectiveness of the AI-driven digital platform, iSelfie.ai, in detecting heart disease and related chronic conditions early. The study involved over a thousand participants and received approval from the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) and the Research and Studies General Department.

iSelfie.ai, developed in Canada, uses artificial intelligence to analyse facial selfies taken with standard smartphone cameras. In mere seconds, it can measure vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation, and respiratory rate. The study's findings revealed that this platform's accuracy is on par with traditional medical devices. This positions it as a fast and cost-effective solution for early diagnosis.

AI Platform Validated for Heart Disease Diagnosis

This technology had previously shown promising results in terms of accuracy and reliability during clinical trials conducted in the United States, Canada, and Brazil. The success of these trials underscores the potential of AI in transforming healthcare diagnostics globally.

The clinical trial was conducted in collaboration with leading national medical institutions. This partnership highlights the importance of cooperation in advancing medical research within Saudi Arabia. Such collaborations are crucial for fostering innovation and improving healthcare outcomes across the Kingdom.

The Digital Clinical Research Center was launched during the Global Health Exhibition 2024. It continues to conduct five pioneering digital studies focusing on artificial intelligence, wearable devices, and telemedicine. These initiatives align with strategic goals to accelerate treatment development and enhance research innovation.

Vision 2030 Alignment

This entire initiative supports Vision 2030's objectives by empowering healthcare professionals with advanced tools. It aims to improve quality of life and patient safety while contributing to health transformation goals. By integrating cutting-edge technology into healthcare practices, Saudi Arabia is taking significant steps toward achieving these ambitious targets.

The study's primary goal was to verify iSelfie.ai's accuracy compared to traditional methods. The results demonstrated that this innovative platform could be a reliable tool for early diagnosis. Its rapid assessment capabilities make it an attractive option for healthcare providers seeking efficient solutions.
