SEHA And Tawam Hospital To Elevate Cancer Care At Best Of ASCO UAE 2024

SEHA, a subsidiary of PureHealth, will host the Best of ASCO UAE 2024 Conference from 29-30 June 2024 at the Grand Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel & Residences Emirates Pearl. Organised by Tawam Hospital, this annual meeting is licensed by the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). The event will gather top international, regional and local experts to discuss recent advancements in cancer treatments and other oncology breakthroughs.

The conference will delve into scientific discoveries presented at the ASCO Annual Meeting 2024 held in Chicago, US, from 31 May to 5 June 2024. Participants will evaluate these findings, consider their impact on current care standards, and explore how to integrate them into clinical practice. Discussions will focus on how these results could transform existing cancer treatment protocols.

Dr Ghanem Ali Al Hassani, Corporate Education Director, expressed pride in SEHA's successful hosting of the Best of ASCO conference. He highlighted that the event aims to unite leading experts, researchers, healthcare professionals, and policymakers worldwide to discuss the latest advancements and challenges in oncology care. Dr Khalid Balaraj, Chair of Oncology Centre at Tawam Hospital, emphasised that hosting the conference in Abu Dhabi underscores the emirate’s leadership in oncology. He noted that Tawam Hospital boasts one of the UAE’s top oncology centres driven by recent breakthroughs and methodologies. "By learning from global experts during the conference, we aim to further enhance our exceptional comprehensive oncology services to patients in the UAE and beyond," Dr Balaraj said.

The programme will commence with a plenary session followed by detailed analyses on topics such as early breast cancer, advanced breast cancer, lung cancer, gastrointestinal cancers and genitourinary cancers. Interactive workshops focusing on breast cancer, lung cancer and genitourinary cancers are also part of the agenda.
