Second Sharjah International Conference On Education: AI And Digital Transformation Set For May 2025

The University of Sharjah (UoS) and American University of Sharjah (AUS) have announced the Second Sharjah International Conference on Education: AI and Beyond. Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, this event will focus on "Towards Sustainable Smart Education: Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation – Enhancing Creativity and Innovation." Scheduled for 12th to 13th May 2025, UoS will host the first day, while AUS will host the second.

During a joint press conference at AUS, Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of UoS, expressed gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi for his ongoing support. He highlighted that the conference would serve as a platform to share best practices and discuss innovative teaching strategies. The impact of AI on future learning will also be explored.

Sharjah Conference on Education in May 2025

The conference aims to highlight how higher education institutions are adapting to prepare graduates for future job markets influenced by AI and digital transformation. It will delve into innovative curriculum development, modern teaching methods, and strategies to boost student engagement and learning outcomes.

Prof. Tod Laursen, Chancellor of AUS, emphasised the importance of collaboration between AUS and UoS. "This collaboration demonstrates our shared commitment to advancing education through cutting-edge research and innovative pedagogies," he stated. The goal is to create an academic environment fostering creativity, problem-solving, and digital fluency.

H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of UoS, will preside over the first day of the conference. Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, President of AUS, will lead the second day's programme. This leadership underscores Sharjah’s dedication to innovation and excellence in education.

Dr. Hussein Elmehdi, Co-Chair of the Organising Committee, revealed that over 125 research papers from more than 25 countries have been submitted for the conference. These papers represent over 50 academic institutions worldwide.
