SEC Approves New Organisational Structure For Judicial Department To Enhance Justice In Sharjah
H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, led the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC) meeting on Tuesday at the Ruler’s Office. H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, was also present. The meeting focused on Sharjah's development plans and their implementation to improve community well-being.
The SEC approved a new organisational structure for the Judicial Department. This structure aims to build a robust judicial system that upholds justice and protects rights through high-quality services. The council's decision underscores its commitment to strengthening the judicial framework in Sharjah.
A report on the Age-Friendly Sharjah programme was reviewed by the SEC. This initiative is part of a broader social framework guided by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. It focuses on providing senior citizens with dignity, comfort, and stability in various aspects of life.
Sharjah has maintained its compliance with the World Health Organization’s Global Network of Age-Friendly Cities standards since 2016. In 2023, it achieved a 91 percent implementation rate of these global standards, highlighting its leadership in senior citizen services in the Middle East.
The SEC discussed a strategic plan for 2024–2026 aimed at enhancing Sharjah’s status as an age-friendly city globally. This plan seeks to sustain its leadership by offering a comprehensive environment for seniors across health, social, economic, and urban sectors.
Sharjah continues to be recognised internationally for its progressive social practices and age-inclusive initiatives. It serves as a model for human-centred social development, showcasing its pioneering efforts at global platforms.
The meeting also highlighted ongoing initiatives dedicated to serving humanity in Sharjah. These efforts are part of an integrated approach to community service that prioritises quality of life improvements for all residents.
