SEC Approves Exemption Of 113 Families From Housing Loans To Support Citizens In Sharjah
The Sharjah Executive Council (SEC) convened its regular meeting on Tuesday. The session was led by H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, with H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, also in attendance. The meeting took place at the Ruler’s Office.
During the meeting, various governmental topics were discussed to enhance the emirate's governance system. The council focused on monitoring departmental performances and reviewing development projects across Sharjah's cities and regions. These discussions aim to ensure efficient government operations and progress in development initiatives.
The council approved a significant change for housing support beneficiaries. Several allocations were converted from loans to grants after beneficiaries met eligibility criteria. This decision benefited 113 families under the executive regulations of the Sharjah Department of Housing (SDH). This move aligns with the humanitarian vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi.
This approach aims to alleviate burdens on citizens, ensuring they lead dignified lives while contributing positively to their families and communities. The initiative reflects Sharjah's commitment to supporting its residents through practical measures that promote stability and community service.
The council also approved a Legislative Drafting Guideline for Sharjah. This guideline is designed to standardise methodologies and improve legislative text quality, ensuring alignment with existing legal frameworks. It provides best practices and technical recommendations for government entities involved in drafting or reviewing laws.
The guideline includes elements such as legislation titles, preambles, introductory sections, general frameworks, main provisions, concluding articles, general rules, drafting elements, sources, and references. It also embraces technological advancements by automating legislation processes.
Public Parking Management System
The council reviewed the public parking management system in Sharjah. The system aims to optimise parking area organisation and investment spaces for better use. It contributes to economic and investment growth by enhancing digital systems and regulating unplanned sandy parking lots.
The report highlighted smart parking zones' launch and a unified public parking system across all cities in the emirate. Future projects include identifying key commercial areas for multi-story parking buildings and improving government and private parking space management.
These initiatives are expected to positively impact Sharjah’s financial, social, security, and economic development. By addressing parking challenges proactively, the emirate aims to foster a more organised urban environment that supports its growth objectives.
