The Permanent Committee for Deprived of Social Care presented its 2023 report to the council. The committee held 48 meetings and made 620 decisions focused on establishing general policies for social welfare. These policies include social and financial sponsorship, as well as organising a registry for families approved to adopt unidentified children.

The committee also worked to ensure the rights of those deprived of social care by identifying suitable foster families or social care institutions. They proposed necessary regulations and systems to enforce these laws effectively.

The council reviewed the response from the Sharjah Fish Resources Authority regarding recommendations from the Sharjah Consultative Council. The authority outlined efforts to implement these recommendations in collaboration with relevant entities.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi and H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, both Deputy Rulers of Sharjah and Deputy Chairmen of SEC, were present at this meeting.

The Healthy Cities Network aims to enhance cooperation in implementing health-supportive policies and standards throughout Sharjah. This aligns with the World Health Organisation’s Healthy Cities programme, aiming to improve overall well-being in the region.

The meeting underscored ongoing efforts to advance governmental work in Sharjah while ensuring that health and social welfare remain priorities for all residents.
