SEC Enhances Operational Effectiveness By Amending Powers Of Sharjah Government Medical Committee
H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, led the recent Sharjah Executive Council (SEC) meeting at the Sharjah Ruler’s Office. The council examined various governmental issues, focusing on policies for government operations and evaluating performance reports from different sectors.
The SEC decided to amend the responsibilities of the Sharjah Government Medical Committee. This decision outlines several powers for the committee to achieve its goals effectively. These include considering leave requests submitted by employees in line with Law No. (6) of 2015, such as sick leave and leave for accompanying patients inside or outside the country.
The committee is also tasked with approving or rejecting these leave requests and adjusting their duration if needed. Additionally, it can reduce working hours for certain categories of sick employees and seek opinions from specialist doctors when necessary. Coordination with relevant authorities is also part of its mandate.
Furthermore, the committee may be assigned other competencies by the council to fulfil its objectives. These changes aim to streamline processes related to employee health and welfare within governmental departments.
The SEC reviewed a report on the general budget's performance and activity outcomes for the first half of 2024. This report highlighted financial performance indicators and objectives of the budget, providing insights into actual expenditures and revenues across various sectors.
The sectors covered in this report include social development, government administration, economic development, infrastructure, and capital projects. This comprehensive review helps ensure that financial resources are being utilised effectively across all areas.
By examining these aspects, the SEC aims to enhance transparency and accountability in governmental financial management. The focus remains on achieving strategic goals while maintaining fiscal responsibility within Sharjah's governance framework.
