Sdrpy Guided By A Strategic Vision For Stability And Development In Yemen

Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen Assistant Supervisor General for Institutional Relations Abdullah bin Kadasa said SDRPY treats development as a path to stability and peace, not only as relief work. Bin Kadasa explained that Saudi efforts in Yemen now follow one strategic vision through SDRPY.

Bin Kadasa added that the programme coordinates project planning, implementation, and assessment closely with the Yemeni government. This unified approach, according to Bin Kadasa, is designed to increase efficiency, avoid duplication, and ensure that support reaches key sectors across Yemeni governorates.

SDRPY Guides Yemen Stability and Development

Addressing the economic ties between the two countries, Bin Kadasa stated that almost two million Yemenis living in Saudi Arabia send about $4 billion each year to Yemen. These remittances provide direct support for the Yemeni economy and help many families meet daily needs.

Bin Kadasa pointed out that Saudi Arabia continued issuing work visas for Yemenis during periods of conflict and during the COVID-19 pandemic. Bin Kadasa said this ongoing access to employment in the Kingdom reflected the strong fraternal relationship that has linked Saudi Arabia and Yemen for decades.

His comments came during the session titled "Transformations of the Yemeni Landscape: Opportunities for Stability and Fronts of Development," which formed part of the fifth annual Saudi Media Forum. The event in Riyadh gathered specialists to discuss Yemen’s current situation and future recovery paths.

Regarding SDRPY’s key projects and initiatives, he said, "Since its launch, the SDRPY has implemented 268 developmental projects and initiatives, some completed and others ongoing. Its main achievements include benefiting millions of Yemenis, improving mobility between cities and regions, expanding educational opportunities, supporting universities and technical institutes in delivering their programs, providing healthcare services and awareness efficiently, promoting sustainable agriculture, enhancing renewable energy use, empowering women and youth economically, and strengthening community participation."

Bin Kadasa highlighted that these projects cover diverse fields such as roads, schools, hospitals, agriculture, and energy. Bin Kadasa stressed that SDRPY aims to back long-term stability in Yemen by improving basic services, supporting local institutions, and widening opportunities for women and young people across the country.
