SDRPY Unveils New Healthcare And Education Projects In Marib, Yemen
The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) has recently unveiled a series of initiatives aimed at enhancing the healthcare and educational infrastructure in Marib Governorate, Yemen. This strategic move, under the auspices of Major General Sultan bin Ali Al-Arada, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council and governor of Marib, marks a significant step towards improving the quality of life for the local population.
The initiative encompasses several key projects, including the upgrade and refurbishment of the radiology and MRI department at Marib General Authority Hospital. This upgrade is particularly noteworthy as it introduces the first MRI scanner to Marib, making it only the third such facility across Yemen. This development is expected to significantly enhance diagnostic services in the region.

In addition to healthcare improvements, the SDRPY is also focusing on educational advancement through the expansion of the University of Saba Region. Following the successful completion of its first phase, which saw the construction of a 16-classroom building and an administrative office, the second phase will see further enhancements including furnishing a building for students and faculty members.
Emergency medical services in Marib are also set to receive a boost with the provision of six fully equipped ambulances. This initiative, a collaboration between SDRPY and the Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA), aims to augment the capacity of hospitals and medical centers in Marib to respond efficiently to emergencies.
The SDRPY's commitment to Marib's health sector is further evidenced by its previous contributions, which include supplying 24 medical devices to Kara General Hospital, 27 to September 26th Hospital, and 13 to Marib General Authority Hospital. Additionally, three ambulances were provided to these hospitals, enhancing their emergency response capabilities and expanding access to medical services.
These initiatives are part of SDRPY's broader effort encompassing 34 development projects across various Yemeni governorates. Through these projects, SDRPY aims not only to improve immediate healthcare and education outcomes but also to lay down a foundation for long-term development and stability in Yemen.
