SDRPY Initiatives Enhance Economic Empowerment For Yemeni Women And Youth Through Training And Development
The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) has played a significant role in empowering women, youth, and communities economically. By investing in human capital and supporting livelihoods, the program strengthens rural resilience. It focuses on enhancing local community capacities through training, consultancy, and rehabilitation across vital sectors.
Among its initiatives is the "Building the Future for Yemeni Youth" program. This effort connects young Yemenis to the labour market by equipping them with essential skills. Targeting university students in their final years and budding entrepreneurs, it graduated 678 individuals in various fields. These graduates were linked to job opportunities, enabling them to start their own businesses.

The "Saba Project for the Economic Empowerment of Yemeni Women" established the first women's business incubator in Marib. It trained 60 women with skills necessary to launch their projects. This initiative significantly contributes to women's economic empowerment in Yemen.
In education, SDRPY launched the "Access to Education in Rural Areas" project. This project aims to provide 150 girls with a higher diploma, preparing them to teach in public schools. Such efforts are crucial for improving educational access and quality in rural regions.
The "Using Renewable Energy to Improve Quality of Life Project Concludes in Yemen Project" focuses on sustainable energy solutions. It provides water using solar-powered systems and delivers solar-powered irrigation systems for agriculture. The project also supplies energy to educational and healthcare facilities, benefiting over 62,000 people across five Yemeni governorates.
This initiative contributes to increased agricultural production and improved food security while protecting the environment by reducing carbon emissions. By offering a sustainable energy source, it enhances the quality of life for many Yemenis.
Comprehensive Development Efforts
SDRPY's efforts are part of 263 projects implemented across eight critical sectors: education, health, water, energy, transportation, agriculture and fisheries, strengthening government capacities, and development programs in various Yemeni governorates. These initiatives aim at building a promising future for Yemen by focusing on capacity building and investing in youth potential.
