SDRPY Advances Yemen's Educational Landscape In Alignment With SDG 4 Objectives
The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) is actively enhancing Yemen's education sector. This initiative focuses on sustainable and comprehensive education across various regions. SDRPY aligns with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goal 4, which promotes inclusive and equitable quality education. The program has launched 58 projects in 11 Yemeni governorates, including Taiz, Aden, and Socotra.
SDRPY is making significant strides in higher education by developing the University of Aden. It has equipped 28 laboratories in the Faculty of Pharmacy, focusing on pharmacology, biotechnology, and chemistry. These labs aim to enhance education, training, and research in medical sciences. Graduates are expected to meet global standards with these new facilities.

At Taiz University, SDRPY is establishing faculties of medicine, pharmacy, and nursing. This initiative aims to strengthen specialized scientific education. It prepares a new generation of professionals to support Yemen’s healthcare sector effectively.
The program's commitment to improving educational infrastructure is evident at the University of the Saba Region. A new educational building has been established with 16 classrooms and administrative offices. This development increases educational opportunities and enhances infrastructure.
SDRPY's efforts extend beyond individual universities. The program's initiatives are spread across several governorates like Al Mahra, Marib, Hadhramout, Hajjah, Lahij, Abyan, Shabwah, and Al Dhale. Each project aims to foster excellence in education and contribute to Yemen’s overall development.
By focusing on both infrastructure and specialized education fields, SDRPY ensures that Yemeni students receive quality education aligned with international standards. This comprehensive approach supports the country's long-term educational goals.
