SDAIA Equips Over 11,000 Teachers With Essential AI Skills To Prepare Future Generations

The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) is focused on boosting national skills in data and artificial intelligence. They are implementing advanced training programs to raise awareness about these technologies among various groups. This initiative supports SDAIA's role in providing data and innovative capabilities, aligning with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 to develop national talents for the Kingdom's growth.

On World Teachers’ Day, SDAIA highlighted its dedication to educators by offering programs that enhance teachers' knowledge of data technologies and artificial intelligence. These programs equip teachers with essential skills to effectively teach students at different levels of public education in Saudi Arabia. Over 11,000 teachers have been trained in these fields, receiving educational and developmental support to help advance the Kingdom's global position and nurture future leaders in intelligent industries.

SDAIA Trains Teachers in AI Skills

The "Future Intelligence Programmers" program, a collaboration between SDAIA and the Ministry of Education, focuses on training computer teachers in artificial intelligence principles, machine learning, and computer vision. This initiative aims to enhance their expertise and develop national competencies. Approximately 2,000 teachers were prepared through over 50,000 training hours and more than 10,000 hours of supervised experience provided by professionals in data and artificial intelligence.

The "Artificial Intelligence Hour," part of the National Olympiad for Programming and Artificial Intelligence (ATHKA), is organized by SDAIA with the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba). This program helps students grasp artificial intelligence concepts. It has benefited 575,000 students and involved 9,700 teachers from various schools across Saudi Arabia. The aim is to spread knowledge about artificial intelligence's evolving future to inspire students toward advanced technologies.

SDAIA also published a report on generative artificial intelligence in education as part of its efforts to improve educational science through AI advancements. The report assists teachers in integrating these technologies into teaching processes. It covers use cases, global experiences with generative AI in education, ethical considerations, challenges, risks, and future directions for generative AI in education.

These initiatives reflect SDAIA's commitment to fostering a generation capable of advancing Saudi Arabia's global standing. By equipping educators with necessary skills and knowledge about data technologies and artificial intelligence, SDAIA ensures that students are well-prepared for a future dominated by intelligent technologies.
