The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has played a crucial role in enhancing human capital in data and AI, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030. The 2024 report on this vision highlighted significant strides in building capacity and fostering a digital economy. SDAIA's training initiatives have reached over 779,000 citizens, including 9,775 specialists and 260 scientists.

SDAIA has focused on nurturing national talent by training more than 80 government leaders. These leaders are equipped to design and implement strategies for data and AI. This initiative is part of a broader effort to develop local expertise and leadership in these fields.

SDAIA Trains Citizens and Experts in Data

In an effort to support Arabic-language content, SDAIA launched the ALLaM Challenge. This initiative attracted over 200 research and technical teams globally, aiming to create innovative solutions using large language models. Such efforts are pivotal in advancing the use of AI within the Arabic-speaking world.

SDAIA also organized the International Artificial Intelligence Olympiad (IAIO), which saw participation from more than 25 countries. Held under UNESCO's patronage, it was conducted in collaboration with the International Center for Artificial Intelligence Research and Ethics (ICAIRE) and the International Research Center on Artificial Intelligence (IRCAI). The event aimed to empower students and inspire them to explore AI's future possibilities.

The authority is committed to enhancing technical skills among general education students through specialized courses. These programs introduce students to cutting-edge technologies, preparing them for global technology competitions. By focusing on education, SDAIA ensures that young Saudis are well-equipped for future challenges in technology.

SDAIA's comprehensive approach includes aligning training programs with global best practices. This strategy ensures that participants receive high-quality education that meets international standards. By doing so, SDAIA supports the development of a knowledge-based economy in Saudi Arabia.

Through these initiatives, SDAIA continues to contribute significantly to Saudi Vision 2030 by developing human capital in data and AI. Their efforts not only enhance individual skills but also strengthen the nation's position in the global digital landscape.
