SDAIA Equips Over 11,000 Teachers With Essential AI Skills To Shape Future Generations

The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) is dedicated to advancing national skills in data and artificial intelligence through comprehensive training programs. These initiatives aim to increase awareness among various groups about these technologies, enhancing global competitiveness. This aligns with SDAIA's goal of providing data and innovative capabilities, supporting Saudi Vision 2030's objective to develop national skills for the Kingdom's current and future progress.

On World Teachers’ Day, SDAIA highlighted its commitment to educators by offering programs that enhance teachers' understanding of data technologies and artificial intelligence. These initiatives equip teachers with essential skills to effectively teach students at different levels of public education in the Kingdom. Over 11,000 teachers have been trained in these technologies, receiving educational and developmental programs that foster a generation capable of elevating the Kingdom's global standing.

SDAIA Trains Teachers in AI Skills

The "Future Intelligence Programmers" program, a collaboration between SDAIA and the Ministry of Education, focuses on training computer teachers in artificial intelligence principles, machine learning, and computer vision. This initiative aims to enhance their expertise in these fields and develop national competencies. Approximately 2,000 teachers were prepared through over 50,000 training hours and more than 10,000 hours of supervised experience provided by professionals in data and artificial intelligence.

The "Artificial Intelligence Hour," part of the National Olympiad for Programming and Artificial Intelligence (ATHKA), is organized by SDAIA alongside the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba). This program helps students grasp artificial intelligence concepts. It has benefited 575,000 students and involved 9,700 teachers from various schools across the Kingdom. The aim is to spread knowledge about artificial intelligence and its future potential to inspire this generation toward advanced technologies.

In line with SDAIA's efforts to enhance educational science through AI advancements, a report was published on generative artificial intelligence in education. This report assists teachers in integrating these technologies into teaching processes. It covers use cases, global experiences with generative AI in education, ethical considerations, challenges, risks, and future directions for generative AI in education.

Through these initiatives, SDAIA continues to play a crucial role in equipping educators with the necessary tools to teach emerging technologies effectively. By doing so, they are preparing a new generation capable of leading the Kingdom into an era of advanced technological development.
