SDAIA Showcases Saudi Arabia's National Capacity Building In AI At UNESCO Conference
The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) recently participated in the UNESCO Conference on Capacity Building on AI and Digital Transformation in the Public Sector, held in Paris. During this event, SDAIA showcased Saudi Arabia's initiatives to enhance national skills in data and artificial intelligence. The authority emphasised its role in crafting national strategies and implementing training programs to prepare public sector employees for the Kingdom’s digital transformation.
Dr. Ahmed Alghamdi, General Supervisor of SDAIA's Capacity Building Sector, spoke during a panel discussion titled "Developing National Strategies for Digital Capacity Building." He highlighted that SDAIA’s training programs are designed to boost digital competencies, aligning with the Human Capability Development Program under Saudi Vision 2030. These efforts also align with UNESCO’s priorities, focusing on enhancing both institutional and individual capabilities.

The conference session explored how vocational training can be linked to career advancement paths to motivate public sector employees to improve their digital skills. Aligning national strategies with institutional incentives was also discussed. The session reviewed best practices and international experiences in digital capacity building, particularly in emerging technologies like artificial intelligence.
SDAIA's participation underscores its commitment to strengthening Saudi Arabia's presence in international forums related to data and AI. This involvement highlights the Kingdom’s dedication to enabling national capabilities in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals 2030.
