SDAIA Introduces ALLaM 7B Arabic Language Model On Hugging Face Platform

The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has announced the inclusion of the generative Arabic Large Language Model (ALLaM) on the Hugging Face platform. This platform is a major global open-source repository for natural language processing resources. The model, developed nationally, is now accessible to developers and researchers worldwide for use in artificial intelligence applications.

ALLaM stands out as a large language model known for its accuracy in understanding and processing Arabic. It offers capabilities like text summarisation and content generation, making it valuable for developing smart applications. The model's training involved a vast and varied Arabic language dataset, enhancing its performance in different operational settings.

SDAIA Launches ALLaM Arabic Model on Hugging Face

This initiative aligns with the strategic goals of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030. Under the leadership of HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and SDAIA Board Chairman, there is strong support for SDAIA's mission to position the Kingdom as a global technology hub for AI and digital innovation.

SDAIA highlights that ALLaM is among the leading generative language models for Arabic globally. The availability of ALLaM on Hugging Face aims to provide easy access to the scientific and technical community, fostering the development of AI-driven applications.

The listing on Hugging Face marks a step in ALLaM's ongoing development journey. Initially integrated into IBM's Watsonx platform, it enabled advanced Arabic language analysis through AI solutions. Later, it was launched on Microsoft's Azure cloud platform, offering developers access to sophisticated cloud computing environments.

During the LEAP25 conference, Qualcomm collaborated with the ALLaM team to announce its availability on the Qualcomm AI Cloud. Additionally, they unveiled the "ALLAM AI PC," a computer featuring advanced AI technologies designed to improve user interaction with Arabic.

SDAIA asserts that ALLaM's presence on these platforms will facilitate access for developers and researchers globally. This move supports their efforts to enhance AI application development by providing robust tools tailored for Arabic language processing.

The integration of ALLaM into various platforms underscores its versatility and potential impact on AI advancements. By making this model widely accessible, SDAIA aims to contribute significantly to technological progress in natural language processing within Saudi Arabia and beyond.
