Saudi Datathon Winners Complete Advanced Training In US, UK

The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) recently concluded two training programs in the United States and the United Kingdom. These programs were designed for the first- and second-place winners of the Open Data Datathon event held in Riyadh. The winning team, Traffix AI, attended the Hero Training Program at Draper University in the United States. This program focused on developing essential skills and creative ideas for launching successful business ventures. Their participation was a result of their project, which predicts vehicle accident damages and error rates using features such as images and damage location. This project helps determine liability in traffic accidents and reduces traffic congestion.

The second-place team, Team 2030, participated in the Data Science for Competitive Advantage program at London Business School in the UK. Team 2030's project focused on creating a system that uses a dataset of driver images to identify early signs of fatigue by analysing subtle signals like eye closure. This system provides immediate responses to drowsy driving and can automatically alert emergency services, ensuring the safety of both the driver and others on the road.

Their innovative solution aims to prevent accidents caused by driver fatigue. By detecting early signs of drowsiness, their system can take proactive measures to alert drivers or even notify emergency services if necessary.
