SCLD To Launch National Awareness Campaign On ADHD This September 2025
The Sharjah Centre for Learning Difficulties (SCLD) is set to launch a national campaign focusing on learning difficulties and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). This initiative, spanning from September to December 2025, aims to enhance public understanding of these issues. It seeks to equip educational institutions and families with the tools needed to support students facing such challenges effectively.
Dr. Hanadi Al Suwaidi, Director of SCLD, highlighted the campaign's goal to transform societal views on learning difficulties and ADHD. She stated that the centre's vision is about overcoming these challenges through suitable programs and support. "The campaign embodies the centre's comprehensive vision for advocacy and empowerment," she said.

The campaign will kick off in September with significant events, including participation in the Government Communication Forum. October will focus specifically on ADHD awareness. The initiative follows a structured approach involving field visits to educational and government bodies across all emirates.
Training workshops for educators and guidance sessions for families are integral parts of the campaign. These activities are supported by extensive media coverage, including television interviews. Additionally, a digital campaign will feature weekly educational videos and inspiring stories aimed at parents and students.
Dr. Al Suwaidi noted that strategic partnerships are crucial for the campaign's success. Collaborations with sponsors provide significant support, enhancing awareness efforts and leaving a lasting educational impact in the UAE. "The success of the awareness campaign depends on strategic partnerships," she added.
The initiative is backed by several government and community partners such as the Sharjah Private Education Authority, Department of Social Services, and Sharjah Education Academy. Sponsors include the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sharjah Cooperative Society, Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, Sharjah Media City "Shams", and Dragon Oil.
Empowerment Over Traditional Care
The campaign aims to shift from traditional care to actual empowerment for students with learning difficulties and ADHD. Dr. Al Suwaidi explained that empowering these students enables them to become active contributors to society's development through their creativity and energy.
This initiative represents one of the country's most significant educational efforts, aiming for a sustainable positive impact on education in the UAE. By raising awareness and providing necessary support structures, it strives to create an inclusive environment where all students can thrive.
