SCCI Strengthens Sharjah's Position As A Global Investment Hub At The Sharjah Investment Forum 2025
The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) played a significant role in boosting investment and supporting Sharjah's economic goals during the 8th Sharjah Investment Forum (SIF 2025). This event, held alongside the World Investment Conference for the first time in Sharjah, highlighted the emirate's rising status as a centre for global economic dialogue and investment innovation.
Organised by the Sharjah FDI Office (Invest in Sharjah) with the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) and the UAE Ministry of Investment, the forum attracted over 10,000 participants from 142 countries. The SCCI used this platform to demonstrate its commitment to supporting the private sector and attracting investments.

Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI, met with Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, Pakistan’s Federal Minister of Investment. They discussed enhancing bilateral economic cooperation, focusing on trade, manufacturing, logistics, and facilitating investment flows between Sharjah and Pakistan. Al Owais noted that Sharjah saw a 361% increase in investment inflows in early 2025, reaching US$1.5 billion.
Al Owais emphasised that SCCI will continue promoting Sharjah’s investment benefits through trade missions, specialised business councils, and partnerships with international organisations. The Chamber also conducted bilateral meetings with international delegations to boost cooperation and expand trade and investment ties.
SCCI highlighted its initiatives like Tijarah 101 Center for entrepreneurs and Tahkeem for flexible commercial dispute resolution. The Sharjah Exports Development Center aids local businesses in accessing global markets through trade missions and export facilitation. These efforts reflect SCCI's dedication to making Sharjah a regional hub for sustainable investments.
The Chamber's participation in SIF 2025 underscores its ongoing efforts to enhance Sharjah's appeal as a destination for sustainable, high-value investments. Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, Director-General of SCCI, stated that the forum was crucial in reinforcing Sharjah’s position as a global hub for sustainable investment.
Focus on Sustainable Development
Al Awadi highlighted opportunities in education, technology, logistics, advanced manufacturing, and sustainability during the forum. Through its unified platform at SIF 2025, SCCI showcased entities like the Sharjah International Commercial Arbitration Centre (Tahkeem) and the Sharjah Exports Development Center (SEDC), emphasising their roles in supporting private sector growth.
The event demonstrated how SCCI is committed to fostering an environment conducive to sustainable development by spotlighting various sectors ripe for investment. This approach aligns with their goal of positioning Sharjah as a leading destination for innovative economic activities globally.
