SCCI Welcomes North Macedonia's Prime Minister To Discuss Economic Cooperation And Investment Opportunities
The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) recently hosted Dr. Hristijan Mickoski, Prime Minister of North Macedonia, during his official visit to the UAE. The discussions centred on enhancing economic ties between the two nations. The meeting also aimed at fostering cooperation between the business communities of Sharjah and North Macedonia, focusing on promising investment opportunities for private sector representatives and investors from both countries.
Dr. Mickoski expressed his delight in visiting Sharjah, commending the Chamber's efforts to promote mutual economic cooperation. He reiterated North Macedonia’s commitment to strengthening economic relations with Sharjah across various sectors and increasing trade exchanges. He highlighted that the UAE, particularly Sharjah, is a strategic market for North Macedonia as a gateway to regional markets.

During the visit, North Macedonia's ministerial delegation presented key investment opportunities in their country. These presentations covered crucial sectors such as renewable energy, manufacturing, infrastructure, tourism, agriculture, and technology. They outlined North Macedonia’s strategic position and competitive advantages along with investor-friendly incentives available to foreign investors.
The meeting was attended by Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI, Waleed AbdelRahman BuKhatir, Second Vice Chairman of SCCI, and several Board Members. The North Macedonian delegation included ministers from various departments like Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Transport, Energy, Mining, and Mineral Resources. Abdulkader Memedi, Ambassador of North Macedonia to the UAE, was also present.
A key focus was on enhancing communication channels between the Sharjah Chamber and its Macedonian counterpart to boost cooperation in renewable energy, trade, and tourism. Both sides stressed supporting participation in international events organised by both countries and encouraging reciprocal visits and joint forums for exploring investment opportunities.
Prime Minister Mickoski stated that his visit aims to introduce Sharjah’s business community to North Macedonia's economic strengths and investment prospects. He emphasised his country's interest in deepening bilateral relations through joint partnerships and projects between the business communities of both nations. Emirati companies were invited to strengthen their presence in North Macedonia due to its conducive investment environment.

On the sidelines of the visit, Dr. Mickoski met with local companies and heads of business groups in Sharjah. Discussions revolved around enhancing cooperation with the Macedonian market. Participants shared insights on international expansion and potential investments in North Macedonia. Several company representatives expressed interest in exploring the investment climate further.
