SCCI Showcases Emirati Goldsmiths Initiative At Japan Jewellery Fair 2025 To Boost Global Market Opportunities

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) participated in the Japan Jewellery Fair (JJF) 2025, a significant event in Asia's jewellery sector. This event took place from 26th August to 1st September. Through its "Emirati Goldsmiths" initiative, SCCI aimed to expand global market opportunities for Emirati designers, aligning with its strategic vision.

Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, Director-General of SCCI, described their involvement as a strategic investment in national talent and an entry point into a key global market. He emphasised the Chamber’s role in promoting Sharjah’s and the UAE’s economic diversification and presence in global trade.

SCCI Highlights Emirati Goldsmiths in Japan

Led by Mona Sultan Al Suwaidi, Director of the Executive Office of SCCI’s Chairman, the delegation included notable Emirati designers. Their collections, which combined traditional Emirati heritage with modern trends, attracted significant interest from international visitors and experts. This highlighted the UAE's growing influence in the jewellery industry.

Mona Sultan Al Suwaidi emphasised that the Emirati Goldsmiths Platform focuses on both commercial exposure and capacity building. She noted that designers presented innovative work based on their experience at major European and Asian jewellery fairs, showcasing excellence in Emirati craftsmanship.

The Chamber's agenda featured B2B meetings with key buyers and distributors, providing insights into Japan's latest consumer and design trends. These interactions enhanced commercial partnership opportunities and opened new avenues for trade exchange and national industry development.

The programme also included visits to prestigious institutions like HIKO MIZUNO College of Jewellery in Tokyo. Delegates explored advanced training programmes there, gaining insights into sustainable practices, design innovation, and marketing strategies.

Cultural Exchange and Professional Growth

During the exhibition programme, the delegation engaged in artistic workshops, including a specialised session on glass painting. These creative activities contributed to the designers' growth and professional development.

Additionally, visits to Mikimoto Pearl Island provided valuable insights into cultured pearl production. These experiences strengthened cultural ties through shared heritage in pearl diving while offering knowledge on sustainable practices.

SCCI's participation at JJF 2025 not only showcased Emirati talent but also reinforced cultural connections and opened doors for future collaborations. The event served as a platform for exchanging ideas and exploring new business opportunities within the global jewellery market.
