Sharjah Chamber Delegation Joins Mango And Tropical Fruits Festival In Saudi Arabia
A delegation from the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) recently made a significant appearance at the 20th Mango and Tropical Fruits Festival 2024 in Sabya Governorate, Saudi Arabia. This event marked a pivotal moment as it was the first international outing for UAE farmers, who joined forces with over 60 farmers from various regions. The initiative is part of the SCCI's broader strategy to foster knowledge exchange and embrace best practices in festival organization, ultimately enhancing its support for specialized agricultural events within the Emirate of Sharjah.
Under the leadership of Khalil Mohammed Al Mansouri, Director of Expo Center Khorfakkan, the delegation comprised members from the organizing committee of the Khorfakkan Mango Festival. Their participation underscored the SCCI's dedication to promoting agricultural excellence on a global stage.

During their time at the festival, the Sharjah delegation engaged in a crucial business meeting with Ahmed Hassan Al Sahli, Vice Chairman of the Jazan Chamber of Commerce. The conversation revolved around how chambers of commerce can play a vital role in boosting events that encourage trade and tourism growth. Furthermore, the SCCI representatives highlighted various festivals and exhibitions held across Sharjah's cities, such as the Al Dhaid Date Festival, "Al Maleh and Fishing Festival" in Dibba Al Hisn, and notably, the Mango Festival in Khorfakkan.
The delegation received insights into the participation of Emirati farmers who presented an array of premium mangoes, dates, citrus fruits, and other produce. Khalil Mohammed Al Mansouri emphasized that this visit served as an essential platform for engaging with experts and organizers from the Mango and Tropical Fruits Festival 2024. Discussions with Saudi counterparts focused on cooperation and identifying opportunities for joint efforts to bolster festivals specializing in mangoes and dates. Such collaborations aim to support and advance the cultivation of these crops, contributing to a stronger food security system.
Al Mansouri praised the exceptional quality of mango varieties showcased by Emirati participants at the event. This participation not only highlights the UAE's agricultural capabilities but also sets a precedent for future international collaborations that could significantly benefit the agricultural sector in Sharjah and beyond.
