SCC Committee Discusses Key Recommendations For Sharjah Ports And Customs Authority
The Recommendations Committee of the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) convened on Thursday at the Council's headquarters. The focus was on formulating recommendations for the Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority. This is part of their agenda for the second regular session of the eleventh legislative term. The meeting follows the Council's third session, which reviewed the authority's policies.
Chaired by Jassim Mohammed Al Naqbi, the committee included members such as Dr. Sultan Khamis Al Zaabi, Ibrahim Mohammed Al Mansouri, Issa Abdullah Al Kalbani, Sultan Ali Al Musafri, Obaid Ahmed Al Naqbi, and Mohammed Ali bin Salem Al Ketbi. Fatima Al Muqarrab and Abdul Aziz bin Khadem also attended.

The committee examined strategies for drafting recommendations based on current data. They stressed that these should align with Sharjah's vision for sector development and sustainability. The aim is to enhance operational efficiency in ports and free zones, improve customs systems, and bolster infrastructure.
Discussions highlighted creating a modern and adaptable environment to foster economic growth in Sharjah. The committee focused on improving services offered to investors to support this goal.
At the meeting's conclusion, the committee finalised its recommendations for presentation at an upcoming general session of the Consultative Council. These proposals are anticipated to significantly contribute to advancing the successes of the Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority.
