Saudia Achieves Top Spot In Global On-Time Performance For Airlines
Saudia, the national airline of Saudi Arabia, has been recognised as the top global airline for on-time performance in June 2024. This recognition comes from Cirium, an independent aviation tracking site. Saudia achieved an on-time arrival rate of 88.22% and an on-time departure rate of 88.73% while managing 16,133 flights across more than 100 destinations on four continents.
The achievement is significant as June is a peak travel month due to the Hajj pilgrimage and summer vacations. Eng. Ibrahim Al-Omar, Director General of Saudia Group, stated: "This accomplishment is a realization of our strategic goals to enhance operational efficiency and quality through continuous improvements in flight scheduling and the implementation of the best digital solutions and systems for operations management."

Maintaining high on-time performance involves overcoming various operational challenges such as weather conditions, high temperatures, technical issues, and airport-related factors. Eng. The airline's operations are managed through the largest Integrated Operation Control Center (IOCC) in the Middle East. This center operates within a comprehensive system involving all sectors and group companies.
The IOCC uses advanced technologies for aircraft communications, ensuring smooth operations by monitoring all procedures related to aircraft takeoff and landing in real time at both domestic and international stations.
