Saudia Group Ranks First Globally In On-Time Performance For June 2025 With High Arrival And Departure Rates
Saudia Group has achieved a significant milestone in the aviation industry, showcasing its dedication to operational excellence. According to Cirium's June 2025 report, Saudia topped global rankings for both departure and arrival punctuality. The airline managed over 16,700 flights that month, with an impressive 91.33% on-time arrival rate and a 90.69% on-time departure rate.
flyadeal, another airline under the Saudia Group, also excelled by ranking first in the Middle East and Africa for on-time arrivals. It achieved a 91.77% punctuality rate across more than 5,900 flights. This achievement highlights the group's focus on efficiency during peak travel periods such as Hajj, summer holidays, and Eid Al-Adha.

The Director General of Saudia Group, Eng. Ibrahim Al-Omar, emphasised the importance of seamless coordination within the group to maintain high standards of punctuality and operational excellence. He stated, "Achieving exceptional on-time performance and maintaining operational excellence requires seamless coordination across all sectors and subsidiaries of the group." This success aligns with the National Aviation Strategy's goals to enhance passenger experiences.
Saudia's achievements are attributed to its skilled national workforce committed to time efficiency as a core aspect of customer service. The airline employs advanced digital systems powered by artificial intelligence for optimising flight planning. These systems include predictive alerts and analytics that allow quick responses to operational challenges.
Looking ahead, Saudia Group plans to expand its fleet significantly by adding 188 new aircraft to its existing fleet of 187 planes. This expansion is part of an ambitious strategy to enhance capacity and service quality in the coming years.
The Integrated Operations Control Center (IOCC) at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah is pivotal in managing this growth. As the largest facility of its kind in the Middle East, it ensures efficient coordination of flight operations across all entities within Saudia Group.
This recent recognition marks the second time in 2025 that Saudia has led global rankings for both arrival and departure punctuality, with a previous achievement recorded last March. Such accomplishments underscore Saudia's commitment to operational efficiency even during high-demand periods.
