At the 2025 Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Faisal Alhashem, a young Saudi developer, gained attention for his game "SHOTBALL." The game was displayed in the tournament's gaming areas. Alhashem shared with the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) that creating "SHOTBALL" began in October 2022 and took about two-and-a-half years. Although still in its early stages without an official release date, the game undergoes constant testing to enhance its concept and ensure quality. Holodot, Alhashem's company specializing in electronic game development, is behind this project.

The idea for SHOTBALL originated from a business incubator program. Alhashem explained it started as a joke among friends about combining FIFA and Call of Duty elements. This blend resulted in a unique and enjoyable experience. The game's concept involves controlling a ball with weapons in a competitive setting.

Financial backing and social media promotion have propelled SHOTBALL to an advanced stage, making it one of the standout creative projects. The game's elements are designed in Arabic to resonate with local players and reflect Saudi Arabia's growing innovation spirit in gaming.

A new version of SHOTBALL will be available for public trial from today until Saturday during the tournament's activities. This opportunity allows players to engage directly with the game's features. Alhashem dreams of producing the first entirely Saudi esports game, crafted by local talent, positioning the Kingdom at the forefront of a new global industry.
