Saudi Water Authority Ensures Readiness For Pilgrims During Hajj Season Coordination Meeting
Eng. Abdullah Al-Abdulkarim, President of the Saudi Water Authority, recently convened a meeting with water sector leaders and the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. The session, led by Deputy Minister Dr. Abdulfattah Mashat, focused on ensuring top-notch services for pilgrims during the 1446 AH Hajj season. They discussed sector readiness and aligned operational plans to meet service standards.
During his visit to Makkah, Eng. Al-Abdulkarim assessed infrastructure readiness for Hajj. He examined operational plans and conducted a field tour of Makkah and holy sites. This tour aimed to evaluate water services across production, transportation, storage, distribution, and irrigation sectors.

The tour included an assessment of ongoing development projects at holy sites. These projects involve strategic storage facilities, pumping stations, water distribution networks, and treatment plants. Eng. Al-Abdulkarim reviewed emergency supply plans and the performance of the Mina monitoring center.
Eng. Al-Abdulkarim also met with regional water sector leaders in Makkah to discuss recent developments in operational plans. He evaluated infrastructure readiness for Hajj and emphasized proactive preparedness and reliable supply during peak operations.
Eng. Al-Abdulkarim inspected key projects by the National Water Company aimed at enhancing operational efficiency. These initiatives include network expansions, reservoir rehabilitation, and trial operations in Mina, Muzdalifah, and Arafat.
He was accompanied by leaders from various water system sectors to review detailed operational plans. The focus was on proactive preparedness and ensuring a reliable water supply during peak Hajj operations.
Appreciation for Efforts
At the conclusion of his visit, Eng. Al-Abdulkarim expressed gratitude to the National Water Company for its exceptional efforts in strengthening operational capabilities in Makkah and holy sites. He praised them for completing all 13 critical projects ahead of schedule.
The successful completion of these projects was acknowledged as they were delivered in record time. This achievement highlights the dedication to ensuring efficient water services during the Hajj season.
