Quality Of Life Program Marks Significant Progress Towards Saudi Vision 2030

The Quality of Life Program's 2023 annual report highlights achievements across multiple sectors, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030. These sectors include urban landscape, security, culture and heritage, sports, tourism, entertainment, and hobbies. The program achieved 100% or more in 22 strategic indicators last year.

Significant progress was made in urban design. Public spaces per capita increased by 132%, reaching 6.61 square meters per person. The number of parks rose to 8,328, with 5,515 playgrounds and 222.9 million square meters of green spaces. This reflects a commitment to enhancing urban landscapes and services.

Progress in Saudi Vision 2030 Goals

The program also focused on humanizing cities, addressing visual distortions, developing roads, and promoting digital transformation in the municipal sector. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to improve livability and quality of life for residents.

The entertainment sector saw substantial growth with global events support and human resource development through various training programs. An employment program benefited 600 participants, while 90 entertainment leaders received training. Entertainment accelerators were launched to support investments and incubate 28 startup projects.

The number of entertainment venues increased to 584, surpassing the target by 169%. The "mall space per square meter per capita" indicator saw a significant rise of 0.68 square meters per person, exceeding the target by 183%. Additionally, hobby clubs reached 569, surpassing the target by 142%.

Tourism Sector Achievements

The tourism sector experienced remarkable growth with over 100 million tourist visits by the end of 2023 from both domestic and international sources. This milestone was achieved seven years ahead of schedule. Tourist spending exceeded SAR 250 billion, including SAR 135 billion from incoming tourists.

Innovative solutions and electronic applications were developed to enhance the tourism data system. Training opportunities were provided for young Saudis in the sector to further support its growth.

Cultural Development Initiatives

In cultural development, significant support was provided for training Saudi cultural talents through various educational programs. The Royal Institute of Traditional Arts launched initiatives benefiting over 4,000 participants. Additionally, the Saudi Artisanal Company was launched to create job opportunities for artisans.

The Quality of Life Program contributed SAR 1.5 billion to GDP in 2023 and advanced the implementation of 127 initiatives in cooperation with 17 executing agencies. The program is committed to providing options, developing systems, enhancing human capital, and building infrastructure.

Investment Opportunities

Through agreements with government entities, private sector partnerships, and non-profit collaborations, the program marketed investment opportunities worth SAR 800 million in various projects contributing to Quality of Life objectives.

The report revealed key indicators and actual figures achieved in 2023, showcasing extensive efforts to enhance quality of life and livability across Saudi Arabia.
