Saudi Arabia's Environment Vice Minister Introduces 'Namaa AI' Service And Signs Key Tech Agreements
Eng. Mansour Al Mushaiti, Vice Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, introduced the "Namaa AI" service today. This initiative aims to offer proactive services and user-friendly digital communication channels for beneficiaries. The service utilises artificial intelligence (AI) to improve user experience and streamline digital interactions.
The announcement occurred on the second day of the Global AI Summit (Gain Summit) in Riyadh. Namaa AI is designed to apply AI in innovative ways to manage and analyse complaints, assist farmers with agricultural pests, and enhance overall beneficiary satisfaction through efficient digital communication channels. Additionally, the service aims to raise awareness and disseminate knowledge more effectively.

Al Mushaiti also observed the signing of three memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with leading companies in information technology and AI. These agreements further the ministry's commitment to innovation and digital transformation, aligning with the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
One MoU was signed with Amazon Web Services (AWS). This partnership focuses on knowledge-sharing in digital transformation, exchanging AI expertise and data, and promoting emerging technologies to support innovative solutions. Another MoU was signed with the Saudi Company for Artificial Intelligence (SCAI), a subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund.
The agreement with SCAI aims to promote AI technologies in the environment, water, and agriculture sectors. It focuses on AI adoption, extensive data analysis, and developing AI models to support the ministry's digital transformation initiatives.
Advancing Digital Excellence
The third MoU was signed with LeapAI, a company specialising in IT services and consulting. The goal is to advance the ministry's digital excellence projects by integrating modern AI technologies into decision-making processes. This will enhance the capabilities of the ministry's digital platforms.
These agreements aim to create an environment that supports technological innovation and AI adoption in line with the ministry's goals for digital transformation.
"Namaa AI" represents a significant step towards leveraging artificial intelligence for better service delivery and communication within the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture. The initiative underscores a broader commitment to adopting cutting-edge technologies as part of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030.
