Saudi Arabia Stresses Islamic Unity And Palestinian Support At OIC Summit Prep
At a significant gathering in Banjul, the Republic of The Gambia, Eng. Waleed El-Khereiji, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, represented Saudi Arabia at the preparatory meeting for the 15th Islamic Summit Conference. This meeting, held on behalf of Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, was a pivotal moment for discussing the future directions and initiatives of the Islamic world.
During his address, Eng. El-Khereiji shed light on Saudi Arabia's proactive role during its presidency of the 14th Islamic Summit. He detailed the Kingdom's efforts in promoting unity among Islamic nations, advocating for the causes close to the Islamic community's heart, and leveraging the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to further these objectives. A key focus was placed on utilizing multilateral channels and the United Nations platform to elevate the concerns and interests of OIC member states on a global scale.

The Vice Minister underscored the critical importance of the Palestinian issue within Saudi Arabia's foreign policy framework. He reiterated the Kingdom's steadfast support for the Palestinian people's aspiration for an independent state, in alignment with international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative. Eng. El-Khereiji also emphasized the principles of unity and solidarity among Islamic countries as essential for progress.
