Saudi Federation Of Chambers Hosts Saudi-US Business Forum To Boost Trade Opportunities

The Saudi-U.S. Business Forum took place in Riyadh, organised by the Federation of Saudi Chambers and the U.S. Department of Commerce. Key attendees included Walid Al-Arainan, Secretary-General of the Federation, and Alison Dilworth, Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy. The event attracted representatives from both countries' government and private sectors.

The forum served as a platform for 72 American companies to explore export opportunities in Saudi Arabia. These companies are keen on investing in Vision 2030 mega-projects across energy, transportation, tourism, and healthcare sectors. The discussions underscored the Kingdom's rapidly expanding market and its potential for enhancing trade in goods and services between the two nations.

Saudi-US Business Forum Enhances Trade Relations

A significant focus was on Saudi Arabia's projected $7 trillion spending through specialised government development funds. This presents a substantial opportunity for American businesses looking to enter or expand in the Saudi market. The U.S. Trade Mission aims to introduce innovative American exports, products, and services to Saudi Arabia during this visit.

Notably, many participating companies are owned by American women, aligning with Vision 2030's goals to empower Saudi women. This reflects a shared commitment to gender equality and economic empowerment within both nations' business communities.

A program under the American Chamber of Commerce was announced during the forum, focusing on Saudi-American cooperation. This initiative is recognised as the second-largest globally of its kind. Such programs aim to bolster economic ties between the two countries through continuous dialogue between public and private sectors.

In 2023, trade exchange between Saudi Arabia and the United States reached $34 billion. Both sides expressed optimism that forums like this will further strengthen economic ties and foster a comprehensive partnership.

The forum highlighted how Vision 2030 aligns with efforts to empower women in business. It also emphasised opportunities for expanding trade relations between Saudi Arabia and the United States through strategic partnerships and investments.
