Saudi-US Business Council Celebrates Three Decades Of Strengthening Trade Ties
Washington, SPA – In a significant milestone, the Saudi-U.S. Business Council celebrated its 30th anniversary in Houston, Texas, marking three decades of fostering business relationships between Saudi and American companies. The event was graced by the presence of Saudi Consul General Shafi Bajad Al Otaibi, council co-chairman Abdallah Jum’ah, council executive director and interim president Susanne Lendman, alongside prominent business leaders and investors from both nations.
Susanne Lendman, in her address, highlighted the council's pivotal role in supporting the burgeoning business ties that complement the ambitious Saudi Vision 2030. "For three decades, the U.S.-Saudi Business Council has been a solid partner in facilitating new business ventures between Saudi and American companies," Lendman stated. She emphasized the council's contribution through over 60 business development missions and more than 500 seminars and networking events aimed at fostering partnerships and enhancing growth. Lendman also noted the significant increase in American exports to the Kingdom, which reached $13.87 billion in 2023, underlining optimistic prospects for future trade relations.

Abdallah Jum’ah reflected on the council's substantial achievements over the years. He pointed out that traditional trade has evolved with the Kingdom's rapid progress and development, opening new avenues in tourism, entertainment, transport, and more. This evolution aligns with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, showcasing a diversified approach to joint business ventures beyond conventional trade practices.
The ceremony also featured the signing of several memoranda of understanding between Saudi and American companies, signifying a continued commitment to strengthening bilateral business relations.
