Saudi Arabia And Turkmenistan Strengthen Bonds Through Cultural Exchange And Exhibition

The King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives, known as "Darah," has partnered with the Saudi embassy in Ashgabat to host a seminar on "Arabic manuscripts in Turkmenistan." The seminar commenced on Wednesday and will continue until August 4th. This event aims to foster cultural understanding between Saudi Arabia and Turkmenistan.

The inaugural session was held under the patronage of Turkmenistan's Minister of Culture, Atageldi Shamyradov. Attendees included the Saudi ambassador to Turkmenistan, Said bin Osman Al-Suwaid; Darah chief executive Turki Al-Shuwaier; and Dawud Orazsahedov, director of the Magtymguly Institute of Language, Literature, and National Manuscripts in Turkmenistan.

Cultural Bonds Between Saudi and Turkmenistan

Shamyradov warmly welcomed the Saudi delegation and praised the seminar's initiation alongside an exhibition showcasing the heritage of the Two Holy Mosques. He noted that these events symbolize ongoing efforts towards cultural understanding between both nations and reflect their strong relations. He also emphasized Saudi Arabia's distinctive position in Turkmenistan's foreign policy.

The exhibition dedicated to the Two Holy Mosques featured various sections, including displays highlighting the Year of the Camel, Arabic calligraphy, and Saudi coffee traditions. Shamyradov highlighted its significance in introducing Islamic sanctities as well as national, cultural, and civilizational values from Saudi Arabia to the Turkmen people and the world.

The Saudi ambassador underscored both nations' mutual commitment to enhancing their deep ties. He commended Darah for its efforts in preserving and showcasing historical documentation of the Kingdom within Islamic history. The event also witnessed a documentary film screening focusing on relations between Saudi Arabia and Turkmenistan.

Cultural Significance

Orazsahedov expressed his appreciation for Saudi Arabia's organization of the seminar. He emphasized its cultural significance in acquainting the Turkmen community with Saudi Arabia's rich heritage and cultural identity through cultural exchange. This initiative is seen as a step towards strengthening bilateral relations through shared cultural experiences.
