Saudi Housing Minister's Visit To Turkey Strengthens Bilateral Cooperation In Development Projects
Minister of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail recently concluded an official visit to Türkiye. The visit aimed to boost cooperation in real estate development, road infrastructure, waste management, recycling, and forming new alliances between Saudi and Turkish contractors.
During his visit, Al-Hogail met with Burak Daglioglu, Head of the Investment Office of the Turkish Presidency. They discussed cooperation opportunities and shared successful strategies from both countries. The discussions focused on enhancing the real estate investment environment, developing economic zones, and activating public-private partnerships.

In Istanbul, Al-Hogail attended the launch of the Türkiye-Saudi Arabia Contraction Forum. Organised by the Saudi Contractors Authority (SCA), the forum aimed to connect contracting companies from both countries for major development projects. The session saw participation from Turkish Deputy Minister of Trade Mustafa Tuzcu, SCA Board Chairman Eng. Zakria Al-Abdulqadir, Turkish Contractors Association President Erdal Eren, and representatives from various companies.
Al-Hogail emphasised the importance of coordination between Saudi and Turkish companies in environmental services, road infrastructure, cleanliness, waste management, and recycling. He expressed optimism about the workshop's outcomes in advancing joint development efforts and increasing trade exchange between the two nations.
The minister also attended roundtable meetings showcasing prominent opportunities and leading investment projects in real estate. These meetings highlighted Saudi efforts in construction technology, infrastructure projects, waste management, and recycling. Al-Hogail expressed eagerness to deepen partnerships with Turkish contractors, developers, and investors.
Key Partnerships
Al-Hogail pointed out that through the Housing Program, the ministry is developing real estate projects with around 200 private sector developers. He mentioned that many developers are being prepared to participate in residential projects across Saudi Arabia.
In July 2023, Al-Hogail visited Türkiye again where he sponsored the Saudi-Turkish Business Forum. During this visit, several cooperation agreements were signed between Saudi entities and Turkish companies in real estate development, construction, engineering consultancy, and other investment sectors.
The minister's visit underscores a commitment to fostering strong bilateral ties between Saudi Arabia and Türkiye. By focusing on key sectors such as real estate development and infrastructure projects, both nations aim to harness their capabilities for mutual growth and prosperity.
