Saudi Minister Of Tourism Inaugurates Pavilion At ITB Berlin, Highlights Sector's Growth

At the International Travel Trade Show in Berlin (ITB Berlin), Minister of Tourism Ahmed bin Aqeel Al-Khateeb led the Saudi delegation, marking a significant presence at the world's largest tourism trade fair. The event, known for drawing thousands of travel and tourism agencies globally, saw Al-Khateeb inaugurating the Saudi pavilion and engaging with top officials from international companies, alongside leaders from the World Tourism Organization and the World Travel and Tourism Council.

The Saudi pavilion, under the spotlight at ITB Berlin, served as a platform to showcase the Kingdom's vast tourism potential. With its rich geographic and environmental diversity, archaeological treasures, and modern attractions, Saudi Arabia demonstrated its capabilities and achievements in the tourism sector. The exhibition featured over 45 agencies from both public and private sectors, including tour operators, hotels, tourism and travel companies, and airlines, all representing the Saudi Tourism Authority’s key partners.

One of the standout achievements highlighted at the pavilion was Saudi Arabia's success in attracting over 100 million tourists in 2023. This milestone not only placed the Kingdom at the top of the United Nations tourism list for major countries in terms of growth in tourist numbers from abroad but also positioned it as a leader among G20 member states in this regard. The participation of the Ministry of Tourism and a high-profile delegation from the Saudi tourism sector at ITB Berlin underscores the Kingdom's commitment to enhancing its position on the global tourism stage.

The engagement at ITB Berlin reflects Saudi Arabia's strategic efforts to promote its tourism sector on an international platform.
