The Saudi Tourism Authority (STA) has launched a global promotional campaign in Beijing, China. The initiative was inaugurated by Ahmed Al Khateeb, the Minister of Tourism and Chairman of the STA Board. The Saudi Travel Expo, held at Tiantan Park, will continue until October 26. This event aims to strengthen Saudi Arabia's presence on the global tourism stage and attract Chinese tourists.
Minister Al Khateeb led a delegation from Saudi Arabia's tourism sector, including top officials and key partners. They focused on promoting Saudi destinations as ready to welcome Chinese visitors. During their visit, they held meetings and signed several memoranda of understanding with major Chinese companies. "With this global campaign, we aim to enhance cooperation with China by forming strategic partnerships to grow the tourism sector in both our countries," stated Minister Al Khateeb.

Fahd Hamidaddin, CEO of STA, highlighted China's importance as an international market for Saudi Arabia. He expressed excitement over the increasing interest from Chinese tourists. "Between 2023 and 2024, the number of visitors from China has doubled," he noted. This growth reflects the Kingdom's recognition as a premier destination for travellers from China.
The Saudi Travel Expo showcased interactive sections that highlighted the beauty of Diriyah, Al-Ula, and Al-Baha. Visitors had opportunities to take personal photographs amid these famous landmarks. Additionally, guests enjoyed live demonstrations of Sadu weaving and traditional music performances.
Saudi tourism leaders are collaborating with their Chinese counterparts to ensure a seamless experience for Chinese tourists. Initiatives include training tour guides who speak Chinese and adding language support at the Tourism Unified Care Center (930). Tailored payment solutions are also being developed in partnership with UnionPay.
Saudi tourism partners offered various packages to visit key destinations such as Jeddah, Neom, and the Red Sea. Exclusive global events during the Riyadh Season were also part of these offerings. These efforts aim to provide an enjoyable and inspiring travel experience for visitors.
