Saudi Tourism Authority Secures New Partnerships, Wins At Arabian Travel Market

The Saudi Tourism Authority (STA) recently marked a significant milestone at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM), showcasing its robust and dynamic presence. This participation was highlighted by the signing of over 40 new agreements with trade partners, demonstrating STA's commitment to enhancing and diversifying Saudi Arabia's tourism offerings. Among these agreements were notable collaborations with Flyadeal, Noon, and China i2i Group, alongside strategic partnerships with Saudia and Riyadh Air. These initiatives are set to propel the Kingdom into a new era of growth, positioning it as a premier global tourism destination.

Under the leadership of STA chief executive and board member Fahd Hamidaddin, the Saudi delegation, comprising over 70 leaders from the nation's tourism ecosystem, made a strong impact. The delegation's efforts were aimed at promoting Saudi Arabia's unique summer destinations and products to a global audience. Hamidaddin's participation in a flagship ministerial panel focused on expanding outbound tourism beyond the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) territories, further emphasizing Saudi's ambitious vision for its tourism sector.

Saudi Tourism's Big Wins at ATM

Throughout ATM 2024, STA's engagement was not only about forming new partnerships but also about showcasing Saudi Arabia's diverse attractions. Over 55,000 visitors engaged with the Saudi stand, exploring the vast array of bookable products from destinations like Jeddah, AlUla, and the Red Sea. The event also served as a platform for unveiling a major strategic partnership between STA and Riyadh Air, aimed at enhancing connectivity and attracting more international visitors through new routes and promotional campaigns.

In addition to Riyadh Air, STA announced collaborations with Saudia to promote the stopover visa program, allowing visitors up to 96 hours in Saudi Arabia. Further partnerships with Flyadeal, Noon, and China i2i Group are set to launch new promotional campaigns targeting international tourists, particularly from key markets like China. These efforts underscore STA's dedication to making Saudi Arabia an attractive year-round destination for global travelers.

STA's achievements at ATM 2024 extend beyond partnership announcements. The authority was recognized for its outstanding participation, winning the accolade for Best Stand in Business and securing three wins at the World Travel Awards, including the Middle East’s Leading Marketing Campaign 2024. These accolades reflect STA's innovative approach to marketing and its success in elevating Saudi Arabia's profile on the international stage.

As STA concludes its successful participation at ATM 2024, Fahd Hamidaddin expressed pride and optimism for the future of tourism in Saudi Arabia. The event has not only reaffirmed Saudi's unique offerings but also strengthened partnerships that will enhance connectivity and awareness of the Kingdom's dynamic destinations. With a vision to attract 150 million tourists by 2030 and having already surpassed 100 million visits in 2023, STA is well on its way to transforming Saudi Arabia into a leading global tourism hub.

The insights gained and relationships forged at ATM 2024 equip STA with valuable tools to drive forward Saudi Arabia's tourism development. Through continued collaboration and innovation, STA aims to create a greater tourism economy and elevate the GCC as a prime destination for international travelers.
