Saudi Space Agency Completes Engaging Activities For World Space Week 2025

The Saudi Space Agency (SSA) wrapped up its involvement in World Space Week 2025, an annual event held from October 4 to 10 as designated by the United Nations. The agency engaged students, researchers, specialists, and the public through various interactive activities. A digital awareness campaign was launched, featuring scientific content on their website and social media to enhance understanding of space sciences.

Saudi astronauts shared video messages with students, discussing their experiences on the International Space Station and highlighting the importance of youth in future space exploration. These messages aimed to inspire students by providing insights into life in space and encouraging them to consider careers in this field.

The SSA collaborated with the Ministry of Education and over 20 Saudi universities to emphasize the significance of space exploration for humanity's benefit. Workshops and field visits were organized for university students at the Concurrent Design Facility (CDF), where they learned about space mission design processes. Additionally, SSA staff delivered lectures on space exploration technologies.

At the start of the week, the SSA introduced the Knowledge Space portal on its website. This portal offers Arabic content such as videos, booklets, and educational guides to spread knowledge about space sciences among all societal segments. The initiative aims to make scientific information accessible to a broader audience.

The week's events included activities, competitions, and simple scientific experiments that introduced students to space concepts and life in space. These activities were well-received across schools, universities, and digital platforms. The campaign garnered extensive media coverage across various channels.

The SSA's participation in World Space Week aligns with Saudi Vision 2030's goals of fostering a knowledge-based economy driven by innovation. This initiative underscores Saudi Arabia's commitment to enhancing its presence in space science education while inspiring future generations to contribute to advancements in this field.

The agency's efforts during World Space Week reflect its dedication to promoting awareness of space science and technology within the Kingdom. By engaging diverse audiences through educational initiatives, the SSA aims to empower young people to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of space exploration.
