Saudi-Slovenian Business Forum Discusses Economic Cooperation And Investment Opportunities For Vision 2030
The Saudi-Slovenian Business Forum was held by the Federation of Saudi Chambers. It saw participation from Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal Alibrahim, Slovenian Minister Matjaž Han, and representatives from both countries' governmental and private sectors. This event aimed to strengthen economic ties between Saudi Arabia and Slovenia.
Alibrahim discussed the progress made since a visit to Slovenia last year. He mentioned a memorandum for a joint business council and new opportunities for economic cooperation. He invited Slovenian businesses to engage with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 initiatives, highlighting the complementary nature of both economies.

Alibrahim stressed the importance of the private sector in fostering sustainable economic cooperation. He called for a roadmap to unlock further investment opportunities between the two nations. This approach aims to enhance collaboration and create mutual benefits.
Slovenian Minister Matjaž Han highlighted Slovenia's strong export-driven economy, where exports make up 80% of GDP. He pointed out Slovenia's expertise in automotive, engineering, infrastructure, and its tech ecosystem with 2,000 companies in AI, digitization, and cybersecurity.
Han also emphasized potential opportunities in Slovenia’s sports and tourism sectors. He encouraged Saudi investors to explore these fields for mutual growth. This reflects Slovenia's diverse economic strengths that can benefit from international partnerships.
Waleed Alorainan, Secretary-General of the Federation of Saudi Chambers, confirmed that establishing the Joint Business Council shows both nations' dedication to strengthening economic ties. Trade between Saudi Arabia and Slovenia increased by 192% in 2023, reaching $230 million.
