Saudi Industry Minister Discusses Advanced Manufacturing Partnerships With Singapore
Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar Ibrahim Alkhorayef, recently held discussions with key Singaporean institutions. The focus was on boosting cooperation, leveraging their expertise for sustainable economic growth, and developing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). These meetings also aimed at forming partnerships in advanced manufacturing technology.
During his official visit to Singapore, Alkhorayef met with Png Cheong Boon, Chairman of the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB). They discussed ways to enhance cooperation and build partnerships, benefiting from EDB's extensive expertise. This meeting was part of a broader effort to strengthen bilateral ties between Saudi Arabia and Singapore.

Alkhorayef also engaged with Lee Chuan Teck, Executive Chairman of Enterprise Singapore. Their discussions revolved around leveraging the institution’s knowledge in capacity building, innovation, and transformation. This collaboration aims to foster growth in various sectors by adopting innovative practices.
The minister's agenda included a meeting with the head of the fourth industrial revolution division at Meinhardt Group. They explored modern technologies that could boost efficiency and innovation within the industry. This discussion highlighted the importance of adopting cutting-edge technologies to stay competitive in the global market.
Additionally, Alkhorayef met with the chief executive of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). They examined potential areas for strengthening cooperation with A*STAR, known globally for its innovative contributions to science and technology. This partnership aims to integrate advanced scientific research into industrial practices.

The meetings were attended by several notable figures from Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources. Assistant Minister for Planning and Development Dr. Abdullah Ali Alahmari was present alongside National Industrial Development Center (NIDC) Chief Executive Eng. Saleh Al-Sulami. Also in attendance was Majed Rafed Al-Argoubi, Chief Executive of the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones.
These discussions are part of Alkhorayef's broader economic tour of East Asia.
