Saudi Reef Plants Over 15 Million Seedlings To Support Afforestation Efforts Across The Kingdom
The Sustainable Agricultural Rural Development Program, known as Saudi Reef, remains committed to bolstering afforestation efforts throughout Saudi Arabia. By empowering small farmers with training in modern agricultural techniques, the program aims to enhance environmental and agricultural sustainability. These initiatives align with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
Saudi Reef's strategy includes supplying seedlings and environmentally suitable plant varieties to farmers. This approach helps boost agricultural efficiency and productivity. The program also promotes modern farming practices to aid in developing vegetation cover, supporting the Saudi Green Initiative's goals.

Since its inception, Saudi Reef has planted over 15.5 million seedlings across the Kingdom by 2024. These efforts span the fruit, coffee, and rose sectors. The announcement coincided with the launch of the 2025 National Afforestation Season, organized by the National Afforestation Program to further the Saudi Green Initiative's objectives.
The fruit sector received the most attention, with 12.6 million seedlings planted. The coffee sector followed with 1.8 million seedlings, while the rose sector saw 1.1 million seedlings planted. These efforts highlight Saudi Reef's dedication to diversifying and expanding vegetation cover across various regions.
Najran Region led all areas with nearly 6 million seedlings planted. Aseer Region followed closely with 4.5 million seedlings. Other significant contributions came from Jazan Region with 1.6 million seedlings and Al-Baha with 1.4 million seedlings.
Makkah Region contributed by planting 1.1 million seedlings, while an additional 971,000 seedlings were distributed across other regions in Saudi Arabia. These regional efforts underscore a nationwide commitment to enhancing green spaces and supporting sustainable agriculture.
The program's comprehensive approach not only supports small farmers but also contributes significantly to environmental sustainability in line with national goals.
