Saudi Red Sea Authority Unveils 2024 Annual Report Showcasing Coastal Tourism Developments
The Saudi Red Sea Authority (SRSA) has released its 2024 Annual Report, highlighting significant strides in coastal tourism regulation and development. Over the past year, SRSA has bolstered integration, expanded partnerships, and introduced new regulations to enhance infrastructure. These efforts aim to strengthen Saudi Arabia's leadership in coastal tourism.
Key performance indicators in the report show SRSA's rapid progress in advancing coastal tourism through its core mandates. These include establishing policies, issuing licenses, and enhancing infrastructure to meet global standards. The authority also focuses on fostering investment and marketing efforts with relevant stakeholders.

The report highlights several milestones, such as issuing 28 coastal tourism licenses and introducing Saudi Arabia's first regulatory framework for yachts. Additionally, four technical codes have been launched to improve coastal tourism infrastructure. These initiatives contribute to a robust regulatory framework that supports growth in Red Sea coastal tourism.
In collaboration with the General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information, SRSA has produced 15 high-quality nautical charts. This collaboration aims to enhance navigation safety and support maritime activities along the Red Sea coast.
SRSA has trained 1,011 Saudis in coastal tourism through partnerships with the Ministry of Tourism. More than 130 compliance visits were conducted at marina operators' sites to protect the marine environment and attract investment. These efforts contribute to preserving the coastal ecosystem for future generations.
The report also highlights SRSA's accelerated efforts to enhance coastal tourism by launching the first national insurance product for related activities. This initiative was developed in collaboration with the Insurance Authority.
Awards and Recognitions
SRSA signed 16 agreements with public, private, and nonprofit sector partners to further its objectives. The authority received three awards: the Japan Tourism Award, Marine Navigation Mapping Application Award, and Tourism Company of the Year 2024.
"The 2024 Annual Report provides a comprehensive overview of SRSA’s achievements," stated a release from SRSA. "It underscores strong government support under visionary leadership and the dedication of Saudi professionals driving industry growth."
