Over 3,700 Emergency Calls Attended By Saudi Red Crescent In Umrah Season

The Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) in Madinah has been at the forefront of providing emergency medical services since the onset of the Umrah season on 25 Shaban 1445 AH. With a total of 3,762 emergency calls received, the SRCA's dedicated teams have been instrumental in delivering prompt care. A significant number of these calls, precisely 1,746, resulted in individuals receiving immediate medical attention and subsequent transportation to various healthcare facilities for further treatment.

Dr. Ahmed Al-Zahrani, the Director General of SRCA's Madinah branch, highlighted that the majority of these emergency calls were related to health issues and traffic accidents. The swift and efficient response by the SRCA staff was made possible thanks to their well-equipped ambulances and the comprehensive training of their personnel. This period also saw an impressive contribution from volunteers, with 1,807 individuals dedicating a total of 10,638 hours of service at key religious sites such as the Prophet's Mosque and Quba Mosque.

3,700+ Emergencies Handled in Umrah

For those in need of emergency services, Dr. Al-Zahrani pointed out that assistance could be requested through two primary channels: by dialing 997 or by using the "Asefne" app. This innovative application not only facilitates the reporting of emergencies and requests for ambulance services but also allows users to send distress signals and monitor the status of their reports. Furthermore, it aids ambulance teams in pinpointing the caller's location and provides them with vital information regarding nearby medical facilities, emergency contact numbers, and other relevant agencies to ensure that help arrives without delay.

The SRCA's commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of both residents and visitors in Madinah during this busy Umrah season is evident through their rigorous efforts and the deployment of advanced technological solutions like the "Asefne" app. Their readiness to respond to emergencies around the clock demonstrates their dedication to serving the community efficiently.
