Saudi Rail Conference 2024 Concludes In Riyadh With Major Agreements And Innovations

The inaugural Saudi Rail Conference and Exhibition, known as "Saudi Rail," concluded on November 21. The event attracted over 16,000 attendees, including local and international participants. More than 200 experts and speakers from around the world engaged in discussions about advancements in the railway sector, innovations, and modern technologies. The exhibition featured global manufacturers showcasing cutting-edge solutions and exploring potential collaborations.

During the conference, several agreements were signed to enhance cooperation and share expertise. A notable agreement was between the Saudi Railway Company (SAR) and Kuwait Airways to integrate booking platforms for Kuwait Airways and the Haramain High-Speed Railway. Another significant partnership involved Saudi Railway Polytechnic and the Royal Commission for AlUla.

Contracts were also established between SAR and companies like Yapı Merkezi Holding and the National Energy Services Company (Tarshid). These agreements aim to implement energy-saving solutions within the Northern Railway network. Such initiatives are part of broader efforts to reduce energy consumption across the sector.

SAR Chief Executive Dr. Bashar bin Khalid Al-Malik emphasised the conference's role as a strategic platform for bringing together global experts, specialists, and decision-makers. He noted that signing high-profile agreements demonstrates Saudi Arabia's dedication to advancing its railway sector and reinforcing its status as a global logistics hub.
