Saudi Arabia And Qatar Discuss Strengthening Ties At Coordination Council Meeting In Riyadh
On Sunday, Saudi Arabia's Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah and Qatar's Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani co-chaired the Executive Committee meeting of the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council in Riyadh. Prince Faisal welcomed Sheikh Mohammed and his delegation, wishing them a pleasant stay in Saudi Arabia.
Prince Faisal stressed that the meeting aimed to strengthen bilateral relations, meet the aspirations of their leaderships and peoples, and advance their ties towards broader horizons. He noted that both countries' leaderships view the coordination council as a platform for activities across all sectors, enhancing fraternal relations to achieve their 2030 visions, benefiting both nations and their people.

Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed praised the committees' efforts in updating initiatives, creating new ones, and establishing measurable milestones. He commended the timeline set for these milestones to align with the council's secretariat general's observations in the first quarter of 2024 performance report.
"Today, we witness the fruits of the great efforts put forth by the committee’s heads, dedicated teams, and communication officers, as well as the secretariat general team since the commencement of the eighth session of the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council," remarked Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed. He added that this session encompasses various areas of joint cooperation that both nations aim to accomplish.
Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed emphasized that this meeting marks a significant milestone in Saudi-Qatari relations. It underscores both countries' commitment to diligent work, investing in opportunities, exchanging viewpoints, and reviewing achievements and qualitative initiatives. He expressed eagerness to implement all planned activities.
The secretariat general working team reviewed outputs from previous periods related to committees associated with the coordination council. Additionally, Prince Faisal and Sheikh Mohammed signed the meeting minutes during this session.
High-Level Attendance
The meeting was attended by notable figures including Minister of Finance Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan and Fahad Alharthi, Director General of the General Administration of Secretariats of Councils and Committees at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Prince Faisal highlighted that this coordination council frames activities across all sectors. It enhances fraternal relations to achieve Saudi Arabia's and Qatar's visions for 2030 positively impacting both nations' interests.
Sheikh Mohammed reiterated their commitment to joint efforts fulfilling both countries' leaderships' aspirations. He acknowledged ongoing dedication since the eighth session began.
