Saudi-Qatari Business Forum In Riyadh Explores Investment Opportunities And Trade Relations

The Saudi-Qatari Business Forum took place in Riyadh, hosted by the Federation of Saudi Chambers. Key figures such as Saudi Minister of Commerce Dr. Majid Al-Kassabi and Qatari Minister of State for Foreign Trade Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Sayed attended. The event also saw participation from over 300 investors, highlighting the importance of investment opportunities between the two nations.

Dr. Al-Kassabi highlighted that trade between Saudi Arabia and Qatar reached around SAR 4.6 billion by the end of 2024. He noted that Saudi Arabia is Qatar's leading trading partner, emphasizing the potential for further cooperation in promising sectors. The minister expressed hope that the forum would strengthen bilateral relations, reflecting both countries' economic positions.

Saudi-Qatari Forum Discusses Investment Potential

Dr. Al-Sayed pointed out that both nations are working towards empowering their private sectors to drive economic growth. He mentioned that Qatar National Vision 2030 aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 in areas like human development, industry, logistics services, and renewable energy. These fields offer promising opportunities for private sector involvement.

The Qatari minister also stressed that both countries provide a favourable environment for investors, attracting local and international interest due to ease of doing business. This environment aims to boost trade exchanges and investments further, enhancing economic integration between Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani, Chairman of Qatar Chamber and Industry, along with Hassan bin Mujib Al-Huwaizi, Chairman of the Federation of Saudi Chambers, were present at the forum. Their presence underscored the commitment to fostering stronger economic ties between the two nations through collaborative efforts.

The shared strategic goals of both leaderships encourage cooperation in key sectors. This collaboration is expected to enhance bilateral relations significantly, reflecting the economic stature of both countries on a global scale.
