Saudi Post And Red Sea Global Unveil Commemorative Stamp Collection For Shura Island Opening
Saudi Post (SPL) has partnered with Red Sea Global to release a commemorative stamp collection. This collection, valued at SAR3, celebrates the opening of Shura Island, a central part of the Red Sea destination. The stamps highlight the balance between innovative tourism and environmental conservation, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030.
The Red Sea destination first welcomed visitors in 2023. It currently features five luxury resorts and the Red Sea International Airport (RSI). By 2025, eleven more luxury resorts are planned to open on Shura Island, promising exceptional tourism experiences.

SPL's new stamp release follows their initial collaboration in August 2021. That collection featured six stamps showcasing the Red Sea's natural beauty and biodiversity, including coral reefs and mangrove forests. These stamps received considerable attention for highlighting unique marine life.
Eng. Ahmed Ghazi Darwish, Chief Administrative Officer and Official Spokesperson of Red Sea Global, remarked: "This commemorative stamp collection serves as a powerful way to share the story of our destinations with the world. In 2021, the first collection introduced the Red Sea destination and received significant attention. Today, we highlight our jewel, Shura Island, which we announced has welcomed its first guests this year."
SPL's postage stamps capture key national events such as religious, cultural, artistic, and sporting occasions. They also commemorate significant international events. Each stamp represents an important moment or iconic scene in Saudi history, making them highly sought after by collectors worldwide.
This latest stamp issue builds on SPL's tradition of celebrating prominent national events through philately. The stamps serve not only as collectibles but also as a medium to narrate Saudi Arabia's evolving story to a global audience.
