Saudi Pavilion At DSEI 2025 In London Showcases Defence Innovations And Strengthens Strategic Partnerships
The Saudi pavilion at the Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI 2025) in London concluded its participation by showcasing cutting-edge defence technologies and fostering strategic partnerships. Organised by the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI), the pavilion featured six government and private entities from September 9 to 12 at London's ExCeL exhibition centre.
GAMI Governor Eng. Ahmad Al-Ohali, along with a delegation, engaged in numerous bilateral meetings with senior military officials and CEOs of major global defence companies. These discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in the military industries sector, sharing expertise, and enabling national companies to improve their competitiveness globally. The aim was to serve national security and sustainable economic development goals while advancing the localisation of military industries in Saudi Arabia.

During the event, a cooperation agreement was signed between Saudi company GDC Middle East and international company ABS to establish a specialised workshop for maintaining helicopter blades. Additionally, DEMCO and D&M holding companies entered into a strategic partnership to localise the manufacturing of detonators for various types of ammunition. These partnerships highlight the growing role of Saudi Arabia's military industry sector, driven by GAMI's commitment to supporting national companies and enhancing their global competitiveness.
The Saudi pavilion attracted significant attention from official delegations and visitors. Presentations showcased prominent national products, innovative technologies, and advanced military capabilities offered by participating Saudi companies. The Kingdom's attractive investment environment was highlighted through incentives and an overview of the investor journey, along with insights into GAMI's role, regulatory policies, legislation, and national capabilities in military and security industries.
As part of its participation at DSEI 2025, GAMI organised a workshop titled "Exploring Investment Opportunities in Saudi Arabia." This event was attended by Al-Ohali and UK Minister of State for Defence Procurement Luke Pollard. Discussions centred on cooperation between Saudi and British companies to support supply chains in line with localisation targets.
The participation underscored Saudi Arabia’s leadership in building a sustainable military industries sector supported by robust legislative frameworks. Efforts focused on localisation, enablement, and prosperity within this vital sector. Visitors praised the advanced level reached by Saudi military industries and the Kingdom's ambitions for this sector.
Commitment to Localisation Goals
GAMI reaffirmed its commitment to localising over 50% of military spending on equipment and services by 2030. This goal aims to develop the military industries sector into a key pillar of the national economy. By enabling national manufacturing capabilities, the sector is expected to become a vital economic contributor enhancing defence independence and national security.
The Saudi pavilion successfully achieved its objectives of strengthening the Kingdom’s position as a reliable global partner. It expanded relationships with major international companies while enabling national firms to showcase their capabilities. This provided opportunities for growth and expansion in global markets.
