Industry Minister Honors 'Saudi One' Team For Robotics Excellence

Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar bin Ibrahim Alkhorayef recently met with the "Saudi One" university student team, known for their expertise in robotics programming. The team was recognised for their outstanding performance in the VEXAI Robotics Competition held in the United States.

The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources hosted a reception and honouring ceremony for the team at its headquarters. Vice Minister for Mining Affairs Eng. Khalid bin Saleh Al-Mudaifer and Assistant for Planning and Development Dr. Abdullah bin Ali Al-Ahmari attended the event.

'Saudi One' Team Recognized by Minister

The ministry's strategy focuses on fostering innovation and creativity within industrial sectors. It encourages the use of Fourth Industrial Revolution applications, such as the Internet of Things and robotics, in industrial facilities to empower young national talents.

During the meeting, Minister Alkhorayef's support for young, innovative talents in industrial and engineering fields was evident. He particularly emphasised applications related to the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The "Saudi One" team achieved fifth place in the global robotics championship, competing against teams from 60 countries. They also received the Energy Award at the same championship, highlighting their exceptional skills and dedication.

The Future Factories Program, implemented by the ministry, aims to adopt cutting-edge technologies like robotics in Saudi factories. This initiative seeks to reduce production costs while enhancing competitiveness and operational efficiency based on global best practices.

The ministry's goal is to ensure sustainability within the industrial sector by empowering young talents specialised in these fields. This approach not only enhances competitiveness but also ensures long-term growth and development.
