Saudi Arabia Strengthens Ties With North Macedonia Through Islamic Affairs MOU

Sheikh Dr. Awad Al-Anazi, Acting Undersecretary of the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance for Islamic Affairs, met with North Macedonia's Deputy Prime Minister Izet Mexhiti. The meeting included the President of the Islamic Union, Grand Mufti Sheikh Hafiz Sakir Fetahu.

The primary aim of this meeting was to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in the field of Islamic affairs with the Presidency of the Islamic Union of North Macedonia. This agreement is expected to foster stronger cooperation between the two entities in promoting Islamic values and clarifying the message of Islam.

Deputy Prime Minister Mexhiti praised Saudi Arabia's significant efforts in promoting moderation and combating extremism and terrorism. He expressed his hope that these initiatives would have a global impact. "Signing this MOU will help strengthen cooperation between the Islamic Union of North Macedonia and the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance," he stated.

Dr. Al-Anazi highlighted that under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and HRH the Crown Prince, Saudi Arabia is committed to serving Islam and Muslims worldwide. He emphasized that such meetings are crucial for enhancing cooperation and serving Islamic communities, particularly in Macedonia.

The Deputy Prime Minister also expressed his desire for increased collaboration between Saudi Arabia and North Macedonia across various fields. He noted that these efforts are essential for spreading true Islamic teachings globally.

Dr. Al-Anazi reiterated that Saudi Arabia's Ministry is dedicated to spreading a correct understanding based on authentic Islamic teachings. He stressed that these initiatives aim to benefit Islam and Muslims everywhere.

The meeting concluded with both parties expressing optimism about future collaborations and their potential positive impact on global Islamic affairs.
